Dream Meditation for Letting Go

As if it were the most appropriate thing in the world, on the wee hours of Easter morning, 2021, I had the most amazing dream. The kind that stays with you forever. And it occurred to me that it might contain useful wisdom for others, too.

I wandered into a new shop with which I was unfamiliar. It might have been some representation of a local pharmacy here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, The Land of Enchantment. As I browsed the items in the glass case on my right, a smallish woman with short, silver hair popped out from behind the counter.

“Hello!” she said. “I’m so glad you came into my store. I’ve just had a cancellation for a session of bodywork, and I would very much like to give the session to you. Do you have a free hour, right now?” she said, seeming insistent.

“I guess I do. What kind of bodywork?” I asked.

“It’s energy work, somewhat hands-on, but not invasive. I promise it will be worth your while,” she said, a gleam of mischief in her bright, brown eyes.

“Well, alright. I guess I could do with some energy work,” I agreed. This pandemic has been long and lonely for most of us single folks. I feel like I’ve been living on a private island off the coast of Iceland for the past thirteen…
