Men, We Don’t Dislike You —We Dislike the Way You Treat Us

First, a quick aside: I photo-searched “man candy” for photos of gorgeous hunks and this is what came up — cute but a little too literal. Okay, now, my rant shall commence…

A lovely reader commented on a recent piece, stating that, in spite of the difficult relationships she’s had her share of (haven’t we all?) she still misses “male energy and men’s ways of thinking.” She misses the conversations she has with men, which are “very different” than her conversations with her women friends.

This reader’s words rang a bell and reminded me of the very similar words I’d written in a piece originally published in the online women’s magazine The Fine Line, which I loved. When the magazine ceased operation, I rewrote and retitled the piece for Medium. You can read it in the link below, but I’ll paraphrase the part that sounded so familiar to me.
