Dan In Real Life

Steve Carell and Juliette Binoche, star, joining Dane Cook, John Mahoney, Diane Wiest, Britt Robertson, Emily Blunt in an outstanding ensemble cast. Carell plays a widower with three daughters. Four years out from his wife’s death, advice-columnist Dan hasn’t yet dipped a foot into the dating pool. During an out-of-town Thanksgiving weekend with his extended family, he wanders off to a bookstore to take a break from the action. There, he meets Juliette Binoche and spontaneously falls in love. But yikes! Binoche turns out to be dating his younger brother, played by Dane Cook, and a lively combination of laughter and heartbreak ensue. The family interactions and ambience will seem familiar to anyone from a large family, while the love story will tug at your heartstrings. Carell, as always, holds his own as a leading man — and the three actresses that play Carell’s daughters also give outstanding performances that help to sell the story.
