Seven Simple Truths to Carry Us through Life

I finally discovered what I want to be when I grow up: Grounded, calm, strong, fit, confident, aware of my own self-worth…HAPPY. Learning these seven simple truths has helped me get there.

1. Ask nicely for what you want — from your partner, and from life. You just might get it.

2. True prosperity is never an amount of money. It is a state of mind.

3. In any conflict, always leave people with their dignity, and that includes YOU. Boundaries are healthy — learn to respect them.

4. Pride in your accomplishments is a gift that you can learn to give yourself. Healthy self-worth is a GOOD thing.

5. To avoid mistaking ignorance for malice, it’s best to always give people the benefit of the doubt. It’s the equivalent of seeing the glass half-full.

6. Each one of us has wounds that need to be healed, but not everyone is ready for the healing to begin. Try to meet each individual where they are.

7. It’s perfectly healthy to celebrate one’s own existence, and the best way to do this is to practice JOY and GRATITUDE. Practice, practice, practice.
