I met my former husband in 1984 and married him in 1988. Sadly, if not inevitably, we separated in 2014 after a good thirty-year try. Our divorce was finalized in 2016, an astonishing seven years ago. But then, I still can hardly believe we ended up divorcing at all — when so many other couples we know struggled mightily but stayed together.

In those seven years, I’ve written quite a few stories focused on starting over, hoping that my experience would help someone else. Now, I’ve gathered those stories together in one place.

They’re not all negative and they’re not all sad. But some are sad, because divorce is hard. I’ve thrown some humor in, too, where appropriate; and I’ve tried to share my growing, or widening, perspective on what it takes to lead a good life.

I hope you will find what you need here, and let me know. Thanks for reading!
