Tales from the Land of Enchantment

10 Glimpses from a New Mexico Transplant

Yes, northern New Mexico is this blue and this golden, especially in mid-October of any particular year. Autumn is my favorite season, and this is my favorite month. The air temperature is a pleasant 83 degrees, and the sky is cloudless. Why doesn’t everyone in the lower-48 states want to live here? Go figure. I blame “Breaking Bad.”

For me, New Mexico has been a warm embrace, and I am remarkably tolerant of the sun, and sand, and the occasional snowstorm. Mostly, my artist’s eyes are captivated by the astounding, varied, and unending beauty in every season. But falling aspen leaves landing on dark green spruce branches or swirling in the bluest of skies are a special treat. You really should see for yourself.

Meanwhile, here’s a collection of New Mexico stories so you can immerse yourself in a culture that’s just a little bit different, and more than a little bit enchanting. Bienbenidos!
