I’m so tired of women being asked to scrutinize our every smile, word, and clothing choice to avoid risking the wrath of fragile, emotionally stunted men. It’s time for men to start doing their share of the work. And for the record, being a “good guy,” the one who never would harass a woman, the one who stands between a female friend and the loud, aggressive guy in the bar, isn’t enough. We really need you to be calling out other men who not only commit acts of violence, but also those who casually belittle or dismiss women. We need you to be using your privilege to create safety for all women. And we need you to be doing your work to understand how you personally have been complicit in systems that oppress women.
