Words to Whisper in the Dark…

You should have been there — you should have come when I called.
You should have been there — you should have stayed the man I loved.
I stood up so strong and I did my best, while you walked away,
Your arms crossed across your chest. Cold, cold like a stranger…
You should have been there — you should have come when I called.
You should have been there — you should have stayed the man I loved.
When I needed you — you did not come to me. You were not there,
The way you said you would be. Cold, cold like a stranger…
You should have been there — you should have come when I called.
You should have been there — you should have stayed the man I loved.
Now watch me walk away, tall and proud. Cold, cold like a stranger…
No more chances for you, my friend, the man who lets me down,
Time after time. You made a choice, and now I’m sticking to it,
My love for you faded, faded away, until there was no love left.
You should have been there…you should have been there.
