You might like this series, set in rural northern New Mexico. Although it has romance, it's much broader than that, and fits more easily into the genre of women's fiction. All three books relate to the Sabina Crawley character, especially books 1 (The Renaissance Sisters) and 3 (Gift and Revelations).
